Privacy Policy
We ask a fair amount about your body, your health and your life, because that's what it takes to coach you properly. This explains what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to get it deleted.
Pending legal review. The entity details and the retention periods in section 6 are the client’s confirmed policy text. The analytics provider is still open, and the policy needs a lawyer’s review before launch.
1. Who we are
ATHLI Movement (“ATHLI”, “we”, “us”) is a coaching and wellness service operating from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The legal entity responsible for your personal data is Elevate Lifestyle FZC, trade licence number 55032, registered at C1 Building, Ajman Free Zone, United Arab Emirates.
This policy covers the ATHLI website, the ATHLI app, our coaching services, ATHLI Club, and our corporate programmes. If you’d rather just ask us something directly, email hello@athlimovement.com.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and where you’re based.
- Consultation information — your goals, training history, what you’ve tried before, your schedule and your general circumstances.
- Health and fitness information — injuries, medical conditions, medication where relevant to training, body measurements, weight, progress photos, workout performance, nutrition logs, hydration, sleep and habits.
- Payment information — handled by our payment provider. We see the fact and amount of a payment; we do not store your full card details.
- Anything else you send us — messages to your coach, community posts, form submissions and support requests.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data — browser type, device, approximate location from your IP address, pages visited and how you arrived.
- Wearable and activity data — only if you choose to connect a device. Steps, workouts, activity and, depending on the device, heart rate and sleep.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see section 8.
3. Why we collect it
- To coach you. Building your programme, adjusting it as you progress, and keeping you safe while you train. This is the core of it.
- To run your account and take payment for the plan or package you’ve bought.
- To communicate with you — consultation arrangements, session reminders, check-ins, service updates and answers to your questions.
- To improve what we do — understanding which programmes work, where people drop off, and what the site gets wrong.
- To send you marketing, but only if you’ve asked for it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link that works.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not rent or trade it with third parties for their own marketing.
4. Health & fitness data
Health information is sensitive, and we treat it that way. We only ask for what genuinely affects how we coach you — an old knee injury, a condition that changes what’s safe, a medication that affects recovery.
- We collect it with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by contacting us.
- Access is limited to your coach and the ATHLI staff who need it to deliver your programme.
- Progress photos are never published, shared or used in marketing without your separate, explicit written permission — and you can revoke that permission at any time.
- We are not medical professionals, and nothing we collect or provide is medical advice. See our health disclaimer.
5. Who we share it with
We share your information only with the service providers we need to run ATHLI, and only to the extent they need it:
- ABC Trainerize — the platform behind the ATHLI app. Your programme, workout history, progress tracking, nutrition logs, coach messages and community activity are stored and processed there.
- Our checkout — payments are taken through our Trainerize checkout, which handles your card details securely; we don’t store them.
- Our email and communication tools — Google Workspace for service emails, and HubSpot for enquiry management and, if you’ve opted in, marketing emails.
- Analytics providers — [ANALYTICS PROVIDER], to understand how the site is used. To be confirmed once analytics is set up.
- Professional advisers and authorities — accountants, insurers or legal advisers where necessary, and any authority where we’re legally required to disclose.
Corporate programmes: if you take part through your employer, we share only aggregated, anonymised participation data with them — such as how many people joined a challenge. Your employer never sees your individual health data, measurements, photos, coach messages or personal progress.
Some of these providers operate outside the UAE, which means your data may be transferred and stored abroad. We only use providers that apply appropriate safeguards to protect it.
6. How long we keep it
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services and fulfil the purposes for which it was collected.
- Client account and service-related information — in general, retained for up to 5 years after the end of the client relationship.
- Transaction, invoice, payment and other financial or legal records — retained for longer where required by applicable law, regulatory requirements, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
- Marketing contacts — until you unsubscribe.
- If you ask us to delete your data, we do so promptly, other than anything we are legally obliged to retain.
Where information is no longer required, it will be securely deleted, anonymised or otherwise disposed of, subject to the capabilities and retention practices of the third-party platforms we use.
7. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that’s wrong or out of date.
- Delete your data.
- Export a copy of it in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent, including consent to hold health information or to use your photos.
- Object to or restrict how we use it.
- Unsubscribe from marketing, instantly and permanently.
Email hello@athlimovement.com and we’ll respond within [RESPONSE PERIOD, e.g. 30 days]. We won’t ask you to justify the request, and we won’t make it difficult.
8. Cookies & analytics
Our website uses cookies to keep it working properly and to understand how it’s used. That covers essential cookies (which keep the site functioning), analytics cookies (which show us which pages help and which don’t), and, where enabled, advertising cookies that let us measure whether our ads reach the right people.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Essential cookies aside, blocking them won’t stop you using the site.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls and reputable providers to protect your information, and we limit internal access to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we won’t pretend otherwise — but if a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority without unnecessary delay.
10. Children
ATHLI’s services are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian. Where we coach a young person, we do so with that consent in place. If you believe a child’s data has been collected without it, contact us and we’ll remove it.
11. Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when our practices change, and the “last updated” date at the top will tell you when. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we’ll let you know directly rather than quietly editing the page.
12. Contact us
Questions, requests or complaints about privacy — including data deletion — go to hello@athlimovement.com, or WhatsApp +971 54 290 2101. A real person reads them.
If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled a privacy concern, you have the right to raise it with the relevant UAE data protection authority.
Ask us anything.
If something here isn't clear, or you want your data removed, just say so. We'd rather answer it properly than have you guess.
